MEGAFAUNA Terms of Service
Last updated: 9/9/2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using MEGAFAUNA, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the game.
The game is in active beta
MEGAFAUNA is under active development. Features, balance, and content may change at any time without notice, and bugs are expected. We prioritize fixing issues correctly over preserving any specific past state — this means your gameplay data, scores, or collection may occasionally be corrected, adjusted, or reset if we discover an error that produced incorrect results. We'll always try to communicate meaningful changes, but we can't guarantee your progress will never be affected by a fix.
The game is provided “as is,” with no warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure. Anything that happens under your account is your responsibility, whether or not you personally did it.
- One account per person. Accounts are not transferable.
- You must be old enough to legally consent to online services in your jurisdiction to create an account (see our Privacy Policy for the children's privacy notice).
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended behavior for personal advantage instead of reporting them (we've built an in-game feedback tool specifically so you can report these — please use it)
- Attempt to access another player's account or data without permission
- Use automated tools, scripts, or bots to interact with the game
- Harass, abuse, or maliciously target other players (including through in-game features like the Shame mechanic, which is meant to be lighthearted competitive fun between friends, not a tool for genuine harassment)
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the game's infrastructure
We reserve the right to correct, reverse, or remove any progress, currency, or item gained through a bug or exploit, and to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Ownership
- We own MEGAFAUNA — its code, design, artwork, text, and all game content. Playing the game doesn't grant you any ownership over it.
- You retain ownership of any original text or content you personally submit (like a bug report's description), but you grant us permission to use it to operate and improve the game.
Outposts and social features
Outposts are player-created groups. The Outpost's creator (“leader”) has certain administrative controls over that group (renaming it, managing membership, hiding certain shared views) as described in the game itself. We're not responsible for disputes between players within an Outpost, though we may step in if the acceptable-use rules above are violated.
Future paid features
We may introduce optional paid features or a premium tier in the future. If we do, separate terms specific to purchases (refunds, billing, etc.) will be provided at that time, and this document will be updated accordingly.
Termination
You may stop using the game and request account deletion at any time (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice for serious violations.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game, including loss of progress, data, or enjoyment. Our total liability for any claim relating to the game is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (which, for most players, is zero).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the game evolves. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. We'll update the “last updated” date whenever we do.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vermont, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
